The Software Tester role at Capitec Bank in Stellenbosch involves ensuring the quality and reliability of the Capitec App by performing manual and automated testing of app features. The position focuses on supporting the team’s transition from manual to automation testing, collaborating closely with developers and product owners throughout the software development lifecycle (SDLC). Candidates should have at least 2 years of software testing experience, hold an ISTQB Foundation Certification, and possess strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills. Proficiency in tools such as SQL, Postman, GitHub, and Browserstack is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Conduct manual testing of app features to ensure functionality, performance, and reliability
• Collaborate with developers, product owners, and other team members throughout the software development lifecycle (SDLC)
• Assist in the transition from manual to automated testing, contributing to test automation initiatives
• Identify, log, and manage defects using tools such as GitHub, ensuring timely resolution and retesting
• Create and maintain test cases, test reports, and related documentation
• Perform API testing and database validation using tools like Postman, SQL, and Swagger

Qualifications

• Grade 12 National Certificate / Vocational
• A relevant tertiary qualification in Software Testing or Information Technology
